Kathmandu is the capital city and largest city of Nepal with a population of around 3 million. Kathmandu metropolitan including Lalitpur and Bhaktapur has a population of around 5-6 million people. It is also the largest metropolis in the Himalayan hill region. Nepali is the most spoken language in the city.

After a normal morning fresh up and breakfast there is a list of places and things to do here at Kathmandu. This is a land of many historical places and monuments. There are 3 Durbar Squares here each in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The first activity after breakfast can be to visit the beautiful Durbar Square that is nearby your stay. These are the historical places which are all listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Durbar Squares are the Kingdoms where different kings ruled in the ancient times. All the Durbar Squares have unique monuments and temples that are worth watching at the beginning of your day tour in Kathmandu.

Next after a short visit to any of the nearby Durbar Square, there are nearby markets filled with Nepalese arts and crafts. The biggest market is nearby the Kathmandu Durbar Square ‘ Thamel’ and ‘New Road’. The market where you can find Nepalese art and craft products nearby Patan Durbar Square is ‘Mangal Bazar’, ‘Patan Bazar’ and ‘Jhamsikhel’. Similarly, inside the Bhaktapur Durbar Square there is a local market street for similar products.

It is one of the must have food when in Nepal and you will definitely love it after you try it.

Finally after an evening visit to those religious place you can have dinners with musics and views in different places of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Places such as Bouddha, Swayambhu, Jhamsikhel, Thamel, Managalbazar, Bhaktapur bazar etc are the best place for a normal dinner. However if you want to go with a proper Nepali Dish then you can visit a nearby Thakali Restaurant which are available in many places in Kathmandu.
