About Soapnuts

Soapnuts have been grown and sustainably harvested in NEPAL for centuries. The Shell contains Saponin, a natural and environmentally friendly detergent which is allergy free and perfect for babies, eczema and sensitive skin.

 

The artisans of us separate the shell from seed. The seeds are dried and made into jewelry by disadvantaged women. It allows them to reintegrate into society and ecome productive. The shells are packaged in raw cotton bags which are hand loomed and sewn by our artisans.

 

About Jewelry

Jewellery or jewelry consists of small decorative items which we wear for personal adornment. They are such as brooches, rings, necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets, and cuff-links. We can wear or attach them in body as well as clothes. Jewellery may be of  a wide range of materials. Gemstones and similar materials such as amber and coral, precious metals, beads, and shells have been widely in use, and enamel has often been important. However, here in mahaguthi there are jewlerries mainly of silver, white metal, stones and brass. Here in Mahaguthi are different types of jewelry products. Earrings, pendants, necklaces, finger rings, bracelets and bangles are the varieties of jewelries.

About Stones

Stone native to Nepal are sapphire, aquamarine, amethyst, ruby, garnet and tourmaline, among others. The varieties of stones with handiwork chiseling on them make these stone quite impressive and fascinating

 

About Mala

Malas are in use for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra.  We call this sādhanā (practice) in Sanskrit as japa. In Tibetan Buddhism, malas of 108 beads are in use. However, this mala is not for these activities. This is a simple beads mala that you can wear anywhere as an accessory.
