Description

Pashmina and woolen stuffs

Pashmina Shawls  are soft, downy and warm underfur that can be purchased in great variety and color in Kathmandu. Moreover, they are warm woolen stuffs.

Likewise, the wool of high land rare lambs found in Nepal’s snow region is famous for its smooth and warm fur. The stuffs made from the underfur of these highland lambs are the best quality; softer and natural colored, and are most expensive than the synthetic mix and artificially color ones.

Pashmina shawls are the most exportable products of Nepal. People wear pashmina loosely over the shoulders, upper body and arms. Pashmina stole is a smaller form of the shawl. Nepal is renown country all over the world for its finely woven pashmina stoles.

What is a Shawl?

A shawl is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, which is often folded to make a triangle, but can also be triangular in shape. Other shapes include oblong shawls.

What is a Jacquard Shawl?

Jacquard fabric is a type of cloth featuring an intricate pattern woven into the warp on a special mechanical loom, rather than printed on the surface. It was a French weaver Joseph-Marie Jacquard who invented this technology in 1804, so the jacquard fabric was named after him.
